Bring comfort and connection to Merton care home residents nearing the end of their lives. As a Butterfly Companion, you'll offer compassionate companionship, a listening ear, and a calming presence to residents and their loved ones during this tender time. Your small gestures will make a big difference. Location: Merton Care Homes (Sutton Court & Eltandia) Availability: Monday – Friday (9:00 am – 5:00 pm) 4-hour weekly shift Make a Meaningful Impact: Provide companionship and support to residents and families Offer a listening ear and friendly conversation Sit with residents when loved ones need a break Act as an advocate for residents and their needs Help provide refreshments and support for families Gain valuable skills: Receive specialized training in end-of-life care and communication Develop deep listening, empathy, and compassion skills Learn how to provide emotional and practical support Gain experience in a healthcare setting Desirable Qualities: Compassionate and empathetic nature Strong communication and interpersonal skills Initiative and ability to work independently Understanding of boundaries and professional conduct Punctuality, reliability, and commitment Ability to work as part of a team DBS required Minimum 6-month commitment
