Conquest Art is a Charity which aims to encourage people coping with disability and long-term health issues by bringing into their lives new skills, pleasures and friendship through art. Looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteer helpers for our Carshalton art group. Conquest Art is a Charity, inspiring people with disabilities and long-term health issues to discover their creative energy and build self-confidence through art since 1978. Members meet regularly to enjoy creative activities in a friendly and caring environment. They are encouraged to create artwork from their imagination, to develop their own style and work at their own pace. Conquest Art groups are all run by volunteers who offer their time and enthusiasm and with support, are rewarded by the sense of fulfilment that comes with being involved from such a worthwhile cause. Your few hours a week could make a real difference to people's lives. We are seeking volunteer helpers willing to support our Carshalton art group. The group will be re-opening in September and will be held every Tuesday (during school term) from 2:00 to 4:00pm so the volunteers need to be there to help set up at 1:30pm and clear away, usually finishing around 4:30pm Not every volunteer needs artistic ability, but you do need to be over 18 and a ‘people person’. All art groups need a team of volunteers which have a variety of different gifts from organisational skills, artistic experience to someone dealing with the money or making the tea. Most of all they need your enthusiasm to help create a friendly welcoming environment where members feel relaxed and able to make the most of their time with them. Volunteers are the people who make Conquest Art possible. Could you join the team? Please contact us for more information and they will arrange for you to visit the group to see how it is run and how you can get involved with the volunteer team. If interested in this role please contact: Tina McJarrow, enquiries@conquestart.org, 020 8393 7707, and apply through their website: https://www.conquestart.org/volunteers/ quoting you found out about it through Volunteer Centre Sutton.
