Volunteer for social groups & activities

Sutton Vision

This role is to support Sutton Vision run weekly/monthly social groups with indoor or outdoor activities for people with a visual impairment. Our existing sessions that are running are: coffee morning, art & craft, scrabble, quiz, knit & natter, bridge, gardening, bingo, men's pub lunch.

Detailed Description

Social group & activities role Sutton Vision is a local sight loss charity that supports people who are blind or partially sighted. Everyone's sight loss journey is different and that's why we provide a wide range of services to enable people with sight loss to continue to live full and independent lives. We have a wide range of volunteering opportunities in our friendly team, find out more below. This role is to support Sutton Vision run weekly/monthly social groups with indoor or outdoor activities for people with a visual impairment. Our existing sessions that are running are: coffee morning, art & craft, scrabble, quiz, knit & natter, bridge, gardening, bingo, men's pub lunch. We need volunteers to support with setup, refreshments, offering sighted help for example: scribing at the quiz & esorting to taxi. Or host a group, we would also like to offer the following: Low impact exercise, Book Club, Singing, Sports – if you are interested in any of the existing or running a new group, please apply. Time commitment for this volunteering role is usually weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis depending on what suits you. Our sessions last 2 hours plus set up. This role will require an Enhanced DBS at no cost to the volunteer. We provide a 2-hour induction training, which is both practical and interactive and covers sight loss conditions and sight guide training. Time Commitment

Most groups and activities are run weekly or monthly for 2 hours per session. Outings are adhoc and time commitment will vary
