Community Fundraising Volunteer

MertonVision is looking for a dedicated and proactive individual to support our community fundraising efforts. This role involves organising local fundraising events, securing donations from businesses, and identifying new funding opportunities. By building relationships with community stakeholders, you’ll help raise vital funds to support services for blind and partially sighted individuals in Merton.
- Organise and run fundraising events such as raffles, charity walks, and community fairs - Approach local businesses, supermarkets, and organisations to secure sponsorships and raffle prizes - Research and identify potential funding sources, including grants and community funds - Promote fundraising efforts through local networks, social media, and community groups - Collaborate with the Volunteer Services Manager and wider team to align with MertonVision’s goals - Ensure accurate records of donations and fundraising activities are maintained, adhering to legal and financial requirements

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail - Confidence in contacting businesses and building relationships within the community - Creative thinking and an innovative approach to fundraising - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - A passion for making a difference in the charity sector
- Gain hands-on experience in fundraising, event planning, and networking - Contribute to a meaningful cause by supporting MertonVision’s mission - Enhance your CV with charity sector experience - Be part of a welcoming, supportive team - Ongoing training and support will be provided
