We are seeking volunteers to support the daily operations of Claremont. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to gain professional experience within a busy arts centre, make a difference within the community, engage with members and meet new people.

Detailed Description

The Claremont Project is an arts and wellbeing charity based in Angel, Islington. We offer a range of classes, in arts and well-being for adults over the aged of 55. We are free to join and provide low-cost classes, particularly focused on engaging those who are isolated and lonely. We also provide a low-cost Psychotherapy service for Islington residents aged 18+. Please check out our website/socials for more information on what we do at Claremont: https://www.claremont-project.org The Claremont Project operates Monday to Friday 9-5. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to a 6-month program with flexible options; you may offer a morning, a afternoon, full day, or one or two days a week, based on your availability. The Volunteer role will include: Front of House and member engagement • Act as a friendly, welcoming front-of-house presence at Claremont, visible, present, and positive. • Quick to notice and respond to people entering the centre. • Answer questions about the programme and answer the telephone. Administration • Enter new member’s data quickly and accurately into our Customer Relationship Management System, produce membership cards, record and share accurate attendance data, take class payments. • Assist with administrative tasks related to Claremont (posters, producing materials for members). Centre/Activity Operations • Setting up/packing down classes, ensuring correct equipment is available for each class/activity. Key skills and requirements • This is a physical role that involves moving and setting up equipment, so a good level of physical fitness would be beneficial. • Strong interpersonal skills are essential to create a warm and positive environment for members and visitors. Person specification At Claremont it is important to attend the needs of members, helping with enquiries and problems where appropriate. Offering a level of practical and emotional support in reducing issues related to loneliness and isolation. The person for this role will be: • Age 18 or over. • Friendly, outgoing person who thrives in a busy environment. • Able to maintain confidentiality. • Confident, empathetic, open and approachable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Flexible and reliable with the ability to commit to a six-month volunteer program with flexible options; you may offer a morning, a afternoon, full day or one to two days a week, based on your availability.
