Treasurer Trustee

The Parent House

Become a Treasurer for a unique charity that supports Islington families. Join our committed team of trustees and use your financial skills to improve the lives of some of the most disadvantaged families in the UK. Attend up to 16 meetings a year and support out director with your accountancy skills.

Detailed Description

As Treasurer, you will play a key role in overseeing our financial health and ensuring we are well-positioned to continue our work. You will work with a board of dedicated and friendly trustees to ensure that the charity complies with its governing document, charity law and all other relevant legislation. We need your financial expertise to help us develop and implement a sustainable funding strategy and keep on the straight and narrow. You will, • Attend up to 8 Trustee meetings a year • Support the Director with financial accounting. • Use DataDev (charity-specific) software - training will be provided • Guide and advise fellow trustees in the board’s formal approval of the annual report and externally examined accounts • Commit to being a trustee for a term of three years initially

Time Commitment

• Meetings - 48 hours across the year. Attendance at up to 8 board meetings per annum, early evening and in person where possible, and up to 8 finance sub-committee meetings, which may be remote. Meetings are held school term-time only. • 2 hours per week - flexible times- term time only. Working with the charity director and book-keeper to approve budgets, accounts and financial statements and ensuring that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place.
