Event Volunteer: Christmas in the Village

Christmas in the Village is returning for 2024 and the programme features a Christmas Market, Santa's Grotto, Santa's horseback parade complete with elves, fairground rides, children's story time, music and dance sessions, face-painting, choirs, and a brass band. The day will be wrapped up with the switching on of the Christmas tree lights with sing-along carols.
• Welcome families to the event with a warm smile and guide them to the next exciting live performance or activity. • Chat with families waiting in line for Santa’s Grotto and face painting, hand out festive stickers, and sprinkle some extra magic into their experience. • Gather donation cards and bucket collections at family-friendly activities and performances. • Join the carollers, spreading holiday cheer while handing out delicious free chocolates. • Help us spread the word about our services and upcoming events, and make sure everyone leaves with a smile!

No qualifications needed. We’re looking for volunteers who: • Work as part of a team and help create a friendly, sociable, and non-judgmental atmosphere. • Offer a warm welcome to people from various backgrounds and communities. • Ask for support when and where it is needed. • Feel comfortable liaising and taking direction from the Events & Fundraising team. • Follow our policies and procedures, attend relevant training sessions, and maintain appropriate boundaries.
• Apply or develop your existing skills and experience. • Connect with others and enjoy our volunteer social activities. • Support the local community of Merton. • Enhance your CV or UCAS application.
