Assistant Scout `leader
15th Wallington Scout Group
The Assistant Scout Leader supports the Scout leader and volunteers in delivering a safe, exciting and stimulating programme for the Scouts (young people aged 10 - 14 years old), taking into account the needs, interests and abilities of the young people. With support from the Group they promote the achievement of badges and nights away experiences. It is an extremely rewarding role for which full training is given. No previous Scouting experience is required.
We are looking for someone to support our Scout leader. Our group is specifically for young people with additional needs. Support with running programme for children to gain their scout badges.
Youth Work
Art & Craft, Organising & Planning, Communication Skills, Working part of Team
The volunteer will need to enjoy working with children and young people with additional needs. They will need to be reasonably organised and also be able to commit to attending a regular Friday evening meeting during term time.
It is extremely rewarding to see the young people benefit from the activities we offer and gain in confidence and ability during their time at Scouts. The experience gained is also extremely beneficial for anyone wanting to work with children and young people or those with additional needs as The Scout Association is well known with potential employers.
We run our scout group on Wednesday evening. Beavers run for 45 minutes, plus time to set up and and put way items used for group. Additional time to prepare for sessions and badges, however you will receive support from other leaders.
