This Trustee role requires an individual who can commit 1 to 2 days per week, with fundraising leadership experience, capable of active and visible contribution both at Board level and in external engagement with a broad range of corporate and community stakeholders. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with an interest in the future of the communities surrounding Heathrow Airport to take on the important role of Trustee to the Heathrow Community Trust. The Trustee role is a voluntary position, although all travel costs will be covered. We are particularly looking for Trustees who can help us to ensure that our Board is as diverse as the local communities that we serve. Suitable for individuals who have a good understanding of their local community and voluntary sector. In addition to fundraising experience, you would join our trustee board to oversee the wider governance of the charity. The board holds four daytime meetings (2-3 hours each) per year at Compass Centre, Heathrow Airport. There are also opportunities to visit funded projects and organisations during the year. Trustees are appointed for a three-year term of office with the option to renew for a further 3 years. • Previous experience as a charity Trustee or significant charitable sector experience. • Proven track record in fundraising, income generation, or donor/sponsor engagement. • Experience working at a senior leadership or executive level. • Excellent relationship-building, influencing, and networking skills. • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capability. • Sound understanding of fundraising compliance, standards, and risk. • Ability to commit time consistently and be actively engaged.
Insight into how a grant-making foundation makes funding decisions. Visibility of voluntary and community sector across 9 boroughs. Board-level experience, working closely with corporate partners; Use or gain experience of strategic planning and governance. Our in person board meetings are mainly held at The Compass Centre, Nelson Road Heathrow Airport, Hounslow, TW6 2GW At times, meetings may be held at Heathrow Academy or other local community venues.
Bus from Heathrow Central Bus station - 75, 76, U3, 441 Bus from Hatton cross 423 Free parking available during meetings. Reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed if required.
