Weekly Coffee Morning Volunteers (Tuesdays)

We're seeking volunteers to give a warm welcome to our members, who are older people, help serve refreshments, befriend throughout the day and help make sure the centre is clean and tidy.

Detailed Description

We're seeking friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to give a warm welcome to our members, who are older people. You will help serve refreshments, befriend throughout the session, and help make sure the centre is clean and tidy. The coffee morning takes place between 10 am and 2 pm. Whilst taking part in the coffee morning, your main role is to ensure members are greeted and made to feel welcome, talk to and befriend our members. Our members are local residents ranging from 50 to 97 years in age, and some members might need help entering and exiting the building (but please note, there is no personal care involved in this role). Your role will be discussed in an interview, and before the session, your tasks may include: - Helping to set up the tables and chairs, getting the kitchen area ready During the session - Serve tea, coffee, herbal, refreshments, and lunch - Support services to carry the food from the food surplus partners - Divide all food donations and distribute to members - Collecting all raffle money At the end of the session, your tasks include: - Clear and clean tables and kitchen surfaces, sweeping the floor, washing and packing away tableware and packing all items away to make sure that the area is clean and ready for the next session.
