Authorised Representative

Healthwatch Croydon

Authorised Representatives are specially trained volunteers who carry out visits to health or care settings. This might be undertaken as part of a planned research project or in response to issues or concerns raised by an organisation or gathered through feedback. General training on Enter and View would be provided, alongside more specialised training if the project is on a particular issue (e.g. dementia).

Detailed Description

Authorised Representative volunteers play a key role in helping Healthwatch Croydon influence local health and social care provision. Once trained, you'll join a small team of volunteers in undertaking visits to different health and social care settings from care and residential homes to hospital wards. You will be responsible for producing written notes of observations plus recording feedback from the residents, patients, carers and staff about their experiences of the services. The team will also agree outcomes and recommendations. The notes are returned to Healthwatch Croydon within an agreed time frame to be complied into the final report. Once completed the final report is shared with the CQC, Croydon council and other stakeholders and is available on the Healthwatch Croydon website.

Healthwatch Croydon's office is in the Carers Support Centre which opposite the George St tram stop. On arrival go to the side door and press the Healthwatch Croydon buzzer on the right hand side, a member of staff will come down to collect you and sign you into the building.
