Volunteer Gardener
Choice In Hackney
This is a valuable opportunity to help combat social isolation and to help disabled people access and enjoy their gardens. If you have basic gardening experience and live close to Hackney please get in touch. Volunteers aim to do one gardening session a week over a few months but we are flexible and will fit in with your availability. We are a small user-led disability organisation based in Hackney
Choice in Hackney provides advocacy and independent living services to disabled people (with physical, sensory, mental health and learning difficulties) aged 16+, living and working in Hackney. Help a disabled person make the most of their green space! If you have basic gardening skills and are looking for some solid experience and a chance to give back to your community, then we have an opportunity for you. Many disabled people in Hackney struggle with maintaining their gardens, and as a result they become overgrown or inaccessible to them. You could make a real difference to someone’s quality of life in just a few hours by tidying up their garden to make it a usable one.
