People with Learning Disabilities are looking for their befrienders
Circles of Protection
Friendly volunteers needed to befriend adults with Learning Disabilities. Training and support will be provided.
We will pair you with one of our clients and then you will visit them in their home as well as encouraging trips out to the local area. It might be that you listen to music together, have a chat, go out for a coffee or a walk in the park. All our clients live in residential care, but have no family or friends. If you volunteer with us, you'll know that your 2 hours every 2 weeks are making a huge difference to an isolated, vulnerable person. You will benefit from our expert Safeguarding training and the ongoing support of your supervisor. This role is ideal for you if you are a patient, compassionate person looking for a flexible role. Ideally you will be available for a couple of hours every fortnight for a minimum of 6 months. Currently, we are looking for befrienders in Barnet.
