Do you enjoy planning and have a few hours a month to give?
What you will be doing Volunteering with a small team to identify and then research potential activities for branch members including details of cost, venue, provider etc. Co-ordinating with the team to arrange these activities and events for branch members. Planning an activity for the session/devising a timetable of sessions. Bringing along the items need for the session e.g. craft materials. Letting other volunteers and branch members know what the activity will involve. Welcoming new branch members. Ensuring the wellbeing of the branch members.
Administration,Campaigning & Lobbying
Admin, Basic IT skills - internet & email, Organising & Planning
Knowledge and experience of the autism spectrum is an advantage but not essential as we can provide training. Patience and understanding of the needs of others. Good organisational skills. The ability to see the world from a different perspective. Access to a computer with internet access.
Improve support to autistic people and their families in your local area. Build up an understanding of autism by volunteering with autistic people. Access free training and learn new skills. Meet new people. A worthwhile achievement to add to your CV. Have fun whilst carrying out a valuable role. Volunteering can keep you mentally stimulated and provide you with a sense of purpose. This is a rewarding and fulfilling opportunity and will allow you to make a difference to those you are supporting and their families.
This role can fit around your responsibilities, and you can decide when you would like to volunteer. There is flexibility on the amount of the time you give too. We know our volunteers have busy lives and we do our best to fit around you.
