We are looking for a Library Collections Volunteer to help us to look after our treasured collection
As a Collections Volunteer you will be part of the library team based at RHS Lindley Library. Our volunteers help us look after the best horticultural library in the world, which includes the finest books and printed materials on gardening and related subjects as well as archives, photography and botanical art. This will be an opportunity to work behind the scenes, supporting the Assistant Librarian with collections tasks including record keeping, reorganising books and journals, inventories and basic book repairs.

Have an interest in work that requires patience, accuracy and attention to detail. • Have good communication skills and are confident asking questions and managing their own workflow. • Like to learn new skills. • Love gardening, history, collection care, libraries or books. • Are comfortable lifting and carrying heavy boxes and reaching upper and lower shelves. • Are confident in using Microsoft Office and the internet. Training will be given on using the library management system. • Enjoy working as part of a small team in a back-of-house library environment. • Wish to support the charitable work of the RHS.
