Playbus are looking for volunteers to help at our Summer Party, giving local families a rare chance to celebrate and have fun together. You’ll help staff engage with children, support the smoothie bike and craft activities, assist with food, and gather photo consent. Your time will make a big difference for families who may not otherwise get to enjoy a summer event. Food is provided! come help us create a joyful day!
Hackney Playbus is looking for friendly, enthusiastic Volunteer Play Assistants to help make our Summer Party a special day for local families. For many families in our community, this party is their chance to enjoy a summer celebration they might not otherwise have a chance to play, connect, and make happy memories together. Your time and energy will help bring joy to children and parents alike. ✨ What you’ll be doing: You’ll help with one or more of the following: Assisting staff to engage with children and families during activities. Helping parents and children use our smoothie bike – pedal-powered fun! Supporting little ones to get creative making their very own music shakers. Lending a hand with serving food and refreshments. Helping gather photo consent forms so we can share the magic moments safely. 📸 Food & Photography Provided: Food and drinks will be available for families and volunteers on the day, and you may be asked to help out with catering or capturing the day (with consent). 🤝 Why it matters: Our summer party gives local families many of whom may not have the chance to go away or celebrate a special day to play, relax, and feel part of a caring community. As a Play Assistant Volunteer, you’ll help make this possible. 🌈 What we’re looking for: Friendly, approachable, and good with children and families. Happy to get stuck in and be flexible on the day. We are looking for volunteers who enjoy spending time with children, who have patience and a sense of fun and who can see the potential in every child. Qualities and skills that would be particularly valuable are as follows: a community language such as Turkish, arts and crafts skills, parenting skills, knowledge of welfare rights in UK. We welcome volunteers who are seeking a career in early years, childcare or working with children in other capacities and can assist with training and references etc. for the right candidate.
if kept on Hackney Playbus will support you to gain skills in Early Years, carry out a DBS check, offer safeguarding training, be a referee, offer reimbursements for travel, and provide an enjoyable, safe and caring working environment.
