Online Services & Information Desk Volunteer (SE1 7QP)

Helping older and vulnerable adults to access online services, creating accounts, form-filling.
Tasks will vary from session to session but typically include: - Assist in setting up the table or drop-in. - Researching online resources on behalf of, and signposting residents. - Setting up online accounts (local council, welfare benefits, freedom pass applications, etc) - Preparing residents with log-in details and a list of documents they will need to start their application. - Assisting residents to fill in forms where help is needed. - Assisting/talking residents through the process of photographing documents, and attaching/submitting those documents. - Liaising with the host.

- Active listening. - Empathy and patience. - A non-judgmental attitude. - The ability and willingness to respect and maintain professional boundaries. - The ability to explain things clearly and simply. - Discretion. - Confidence and experience of filling in forms and researching information. - Good literacy and numeracy. - Willingness to attend training, and team meetings.

A few hours a week. Current session timings are Fridays from 10.30am-12.30pm. Volunteers arrive earlier to help set up the space.
