The Board is responsible for the organisation's strategic direction and accountability, as well as risk management, quality, and performance monitoring. Trustees are expected to challenge and contribute to the organisation’s development and ensure that financial controls and governance systems are robust, transparent, and compliant with regulation.
We are looking for a person with experience in HR to help drive our organisation forward.
As a One in Four Trustee, you will have a brilliant opportunity to bring your skills and passion to a charity that is celebrating 25 years of supporting survivors of childhood sexual abuse. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our services, contributing to our strategic development. Your insights will help define how we expand our therapeutic support, and raise awareness. As a Trustee, you’ll work closely with an inspiring and dedicated team. By helping guide a charity that directly impacts people's lives, you'll see firsthand the powerful difference your experience and contributions make. Additionally, you’ll expand your network and be part of key decision-making processes that ensure the voices of survivors are heard and respected. Looking forward, our goals are ambitious. We plan to expand our services to reach even more survivors, to continue our advocacy for improved legal protections, and to work tirelessly to break the cycle of abuse. But we cannot do this alone.
Trustees should be able to commit to, when possible, attending 6 Board meetings per year. Board meetings are held at the organisation’s premises in Bellingham or via Zoom. The total time commitment for a Trustee is equivalent to 2 working days per month (approx.) including Board and Committee meetings/year which are held in the early evening. There will be an additional time requirement for the preparation and audit of annual accounts. Trustees are also encouraged and will have the opportunity to take part in ambassadorial activities and fundraising events.
