Admin Volunteer (Christmas Case Management Team)

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. As an Admin Volunteer with the Crisis Christmas Case Management Team (CCMT) you will be helping to end homelessness. You will support with a range of admin tasks including; - researching and identifying external services for members - creating and updating spreadsheets - contacting services by phone and email - helping with printing, photocopying, scanning, shredding, etc. Apply asap and no later than Monday 8 June.

Detailed Description

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We believe everyone should have somewhere safe and warm to call home, and are committed to ending homelessness. Every year we work with thousands of people from all sections of our communities to help them rebuild their lives and leave homelessness behind for good. As our Admin Volunteer you will be providing efficient, effective administration and support to the London-wide Services Christmas Case Management Team (CCMT). CCMT supports people experiencing homelessness to move on from the Crisis at Christmas project into accommodation and to access relevant services. We work with our members throughout the year, after Christmas, and take additional referrals from trusted partner agencies. We are a pan-London, outreach-based service, committed to ending homelessness for each person we work with. You will support the team to: • Research and identify external services and provision across London that could be beneficial to help our members transition out of homelessness • Create and regularly update a Central Services Spreadsheet, accessible to all our London-based member-facing staff • Contact services via telephone and email • Liaise with colleagues within the London-wide Services Teams and the London, Brent and Croydon Skylights • Work collaboratively with and help support fellow volunteers on the project • Assist with other general admin tasks (printing, photocopying, scanning and shredding), as required Additional information: • Following a successful interview, DBS check and references, completion of essential e-learning and training is required before starting the role • A Crisis IT account will be issued for this role • Out of pocket travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed on production of receipts/statements • Volunteers must comply with Crisis policies, including health and safety, IT, data protection and code of conduct We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply and particularly welcome Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic, LGBTQ+, Disabled and male applicants, as well as those with lived experience of homelessness as these are currently under-represented groups in our volunteer pool Applications will be considered as they’re received, so please apply as soon as possible. To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who: • has strong IT skills and experience using Microsoft Excel and Outlook. • is an excellent communicator, confident interacting by phone and email. • has good organisational skills, is reliable and able to prioritise tasks. • is able to work efficiently as part of a team and proactively using own initiative. • is friendly, patient and non-judgmental. • understands the importance of confidentiality and data protection. • is passionate about ending homelessness. • is able to commit to the role for a minimum of six months.

Time Commitment

We are looking for someone who can commit to the role for a minimum of six months. You will need to be available for 4 to 8 hours per week during office hours, any day Monday-Thursday. Monday or Tuesday are preferred, but can be discussed.
