Support with the running of a community library for Children and Young People
Providing help with Library stock, mainly putting returned items back in the book box in the correct order, so that they can be borrowed again. Customers may ask you for help or information. This role will also involve assisting children and young people with understanding which books are appropriate for them. You may also undertake some minor stock repair work and be involved in preparing new and discarded stock items. There will be opportunities to plan, prepare and deliver activities for the library. This will include events aimed at child and family audiences. You will work alongside other volunteers in this role. As a volunteer role, you will also be ideally placed to promote volunteering opportunities within the library service.

o Is flexible and able to help on a regular basis. o Has good IT skills. o Is able and confident putting items into alphabetical and numerical order. o Is able and confident to talk to Library volunteers and customers. o Has the ability to work without supervision. o Is able assist customers with basic library enquiries. o Has the ability to provide basic support to customers using the public access computers. o Willing and able to follow library guidelines and procedures.
Will be helping the community. Working with Children and young people.
Every Thursday- 3:30-5pm.
