Volunteer Befriender helping young people tackle loneliness (volunteering from home)
Our new NSPCC service, Building Connections, has launched. This online service empowers young people to tackle loneliness and has been developed to help young people cope. This is a ‘volunteer from home’ service that supports children and young people who are experiencing loneliness. As a Volunteer Befriender you will be matched with a young person, online through a text based messaging service to support them to develop skills to manage their emotions around loneliness, build their confidence, self-esteem and support them to find new ways to cope.
