Saturday Wellbeing Workshop Assistant

We are looking for friendly people to volunteer at our Saturday Wellbeing Workshops. This is a wonderful chance join in with the activities we run such as Sitting Yoga, Mindfulness, Chi Kung and Dance.
We are looking for people with excellent communication skills and a calm and helpful manner, to assist at reception and help serve Teas and coffee at our Saturday Wellbeing Workshops. This is a good opportunity if you are looking for volunteering opportunities on Saturday afternoons, with a chance to join in with a range of wellbeing activties such as: - Sitting Yoga - Chi Kung - Mindfulness - Dance All of our Wellbeing Workshops are led by professional facilitators. As a Saturday Assistant Volunteer you will: • Be welcomed, trained and supported by the Saturday Assistant staff member • Share the Meeting and Greeting role and all other duties with the Saturday Assistant • Have an opportunity to meet a wide range of people • Help to befriend and make new people feel welcome • Be a valued member of The Stuart Low Trust team • Be offered a snack and drink whilst you are volunteering • Be invited to regular volunteer get togethers • Have individual regular supervision and support • Be eligible for a reference from The Stuart Low Trust Download the Volunteer application pack here: https://www.slt.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Wellbeing-Workshops-Volunteer-mainly-Saturdays.pdf

• Willingness to be part of a team • Ability to arrive punctually and share the role with the Saturday Assistant • Meet and greet participants attending the Saturday project • Befriend new participants who have not attended before, so they feel welcomed • Ensuring Health & Safety procedures are in place by asking all attendees to sign in • Assist in serving teas, coffee and a snack to participants • A mature, courteous and professional disposition • An awareness of mental health issues • It would be desirable to have previous volunteering experience, but not essential • A sense of humour and an ability to stay calm and centred • Willingness to abide by The Stuart Low Trust Code of Conduct
• Receive training and support from our Volunteer Coordinator • Be able to claim travel expenses • Be a valued member of The Stuart Low Trust • Be invited to regular volunteer get togethers • Have individual supervision and support • Be eligible for a reference from The Stuart Low Trust • Earn Time Credits from the Tempo Time Credit Scheme – a reward and recognition scheme where credits can be exchanged for a range of services and activities.
